a new hair accessory line: Hair Blooms

Let the expansion begin!  You can now purchase your very own hair accessory(ies) from the LBT Store.  I call it Hair Blooms.  It rather catchy if I do say so myself.

I have to admit that in my recent years I am not one to particularly wear anything in my hair besides a ponytail holder.  (even then, I only wear a ponytail...at my house.)  I do LOVE (with all my heart) the precious clips, headbands, and bows that the girls are wearing these days.

So I got to thinking:  when I was younger (as in preschool/early elementary school), what would I have worn?  I channeled my young Leslie and came up with these fresh, fun designs.  Back in the day I used to be the one to ALWAYS wear barretts and bows.  I feel like young Leslie has a good rep with helping the "old" Leslie create a vintage masterpiece....through a hair accessory line.

I hope you enjoy Hair Blooms as much as I do.

time

Whoever said (or thinks) this is easy is highly mistaken.  It's hard work to have multiple full-time jobs.  There's my real money-making job; y'know my 40 hour a week job.  Also there's my wifely and dog mommy job; y'know my clean up, manage finances, and keep my family alive job.  And my newest one is this; y'know my craft-making, my mind never stops racing with new ideas job.

Yep, and it is the hardest one.  Not hardest as in doing, because it is fun making everything.  I love it!  I mean hardest as in trying to find the time to do it.  I wish I had an extra weekend day just to devote to my crafts.  I have so many ideas floating around in my noggin that it is hard to pick out just one and execute.  For instance, at the end of last summer I had every intention of making a Christmas product and selling.  I went out and bought everything.  E.V.E.R.Y.T.H.I.N.G.  Did I get around to completing just one?  No, but I did start on one.  Isn't that what really matters?  I at least attempted.

Why did you not complete it? you may ask.  Well, it's because I had a million ideas floating around in my noggin.  Yes.  It's true.  Check out my "personal" blog for what I had planned in the fall.  I actually did 2 out of 3 on my list though.  Go, me.

So I just have one favor to ask.  Can we have 8 days now?  Or how about just 4 work days?  I can live with either one of those options.

In the meantime, I will keep working my 40 hours, keeping my family alive, and racing ideas around my noggin.

By the way, have you checked out the new store layout?  and do you like it?  I need feedback, people.

dreaming of warmer weather

If you are a full-bred Southerner like me, you probably wish that it could be football season year round.  Not just any football will do though.  It has to be college football...and not just any college football but SEC football.  My favorite time of year is being at home on a fall weekend.  The weather is sunny with just the right amout of "crispness" in the air.  A slight breeze can be felt as you stand outside awaiting kickoff of your favorite team.  Yes, I love that time of year.

So I thought to myself, "Self, why can't it feel like football season year round?"  All devoted Southern football fans love to sport their team's colors all year anyway.  And that is exactly what I did.

Introducing Tiger Spirit and Crimson Pride.

I haven't ventured in to making other schools, but if there is another college or even high school team that you would like for me to make a wreath for, please let me know.  I will be more than happy to.

Since we aren't any where near fall weather, I had to fulfill my next favorite season:  spring!  I am ready for some warmer weather.  The weather we have been having right now is feeling great!  So now I pay tribute to this warmer weather with my newest design, Spring Fever.

I hope you enjoy the latest designs as much as I did in making them.  They are available for sale at the LBT Store.

my tiny experience as a wireless/computer engineer

Who would have guessed that I should have paid more attention in my Intro to Software Engineering class while at Auburn?  uh, NOT me!

Just a little background:  Entering in to Auburn University as a freshman, I had this brilliant plan to be a wireless engineer.  So that didn't work about too well because of stupid physics.  I knew I was in trouble when by the second class we had gone over an entire year's worth of material from my high school physics class.  Not good.  And it just got worse from there.  No need to relive bad memories.  (Very soon after I found out that physics and I don't get along no matter in high school or in college, I changed my major to Finance.)

So the only think that I can remember from my Intro class is how to do a page break in html form.  <br>  That's what that means.

Page breaks don't really seem to help me when it comes to designing...more like creating and then designing my own website.  Thank goodness for the wonderful internet (special thanks goes out to Al Gore...eh, not really) where I can research and have handy step by step instructions on this foreign language.

If anyone out there in blogland/internet land wants to give me a few helping hands/advice on how to rev up my website/blog, please let me know.  Comments are appreciated and you just might get a nice surprise in the mail from me.  That is only if I get some free advice and your address.

This past weekend was a busy one.  Not only was it our Valentine's Day celebration, but I doubled the wreath themes.  ha!  ellebeeTee went from 2 designs to 4!  Look out now!

Well, you have to start somewhere.

I hope you enjoy the latest designs, because I have had a blast making them and not to mention naming them.  I think picking out their names is my favorite part.

the sky's the limit

This past week has been crazy with all of the materials that I have purchased.  I am no where near the amount that I would like to have, but we all must begin somewhere.

There are so many new ideas that Daniel and I are coming up with for ellebeeTee Originals.  Sadly, that's all that they are right now.  These ideas haven't come to life yet, or else they would be in the "New Ideas" section of the website.

Speaking of new additions, not only is Daniel the official COO and CMO (is it cheesy that we have multiple job titles?), but he is going to join the "creative-making" staff.  (ha)  He has some great ideas about what he wants to make.  Stay tuned for more on that in the future....I would say close to summertime possibly.

The sky's the limit, and guess what.  I am the boss so anything goes.  And as always, thank you so much for letting me share with you.  I hope to have more pictures rather than words very soon.

in the works

I have it all planned out.  There will be themes.  Lots of themes.  Themes are my friends along with different color combinations.

What are some of themes?  Well, a beach-summer theme is one of them.  I can't give them all away just yet.  I mean, they are still in the works.

In the meantime, what are some themes that you would like to see?  I need feedback, people, so I can expand my creativity.

Thanks for your help and input.  As always, thank you so much for letting me share this journey with you.

a new beginning

It has been a recent dream of mine to make beautiful items that people will enjoy.  Yesterday, February 5th, was the day this dream came to life.  And "ellebeeTee Originals" was born.

I have many, many ideas so yarn wreaths won't be my only craft.

I invite you to join me on my adventure as I expand my mind and creativity.  A new beginning has begun.

Thank you for joining me.  I look forward to sharing my heart with each of you.
